Jordan Benson, Principal
Dr. General Marshall Middle School

Dear General Marshall Middle School Community,

It is with humility and excitement that I write to you as the new Principal of Dr. General Marshall Middle School.

I currently serve as the Academy Director of Crockett Early College High School in Austin ISD. Previously, I served as a founding administrator and Assistant Principal at Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy. I am thrilled to be returning home to Northeast Austin.

I grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of North Texas specializing in Human Cognition and Organizational Psychology. While pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resource Development, I discovered my calling to public school education. My role as a middle school science teacher sharpened my vision to be precision-focused on empowerment, access, equity and social emotional learning for young people. With these goals in mind, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Texas at Arlington.

During my free time, I enjoy celebrating the little things in life with my boy/girl toddler twins, building community with friends and family, going on hikes, exploring new places, and learning about/engaging in equity work in the field of education.

I am eager to meet with you! I will be reaching out to learn more about how to best serve your child and family. Your voice is paramount as we work together to build Dr. General Marshall Middle School as a great beacon of light in Austin ISD.

Warmly,

Jordan Benson (she/her)

Jordan Benson, Directora
Escuela secundaria Dr. General Marshall

Jordan Benson (ella)
