Department of Education Awards $2.5 Million Grant for Family Support Services
Beginning this fall, new services will be available to students and families at Lanier High School, Burnet Middle School and Cook and Wooldrige elementaries.The support is made possible by a $2.5 million Department of Education grant awarded to Austin Voices for Education and Youth, a longtime partner of Austin ISD. Funds will be distributed over five years at $500,000 per year.
Austin ISD Board of Trustees Approves Appointment of Director of Recruiting and Staffing
On Oct. 27, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Kristen Hilsabeck, PHR, as director of recruiting and staffing. Hilsabeck has a 13-year history with the district, having served as human resources technician/certification analyst, staffing specialist, substitute services coordinator and professional human resources coordinator in charge of high schools.
