Dove Springs Community Health Fair At Consuelo Mendez Middle School

The Consuelo Mendez Middle School Family Resource Center and AISD  will be hosting the Dove Springs Community Health Fair on Saturday, April 5th from 9am to 12pm at Consuelo Mendez Middle School (5106 Village Square Dr.).

This year, the FRC is collaborating with Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department for their kickoff of National Public Health Week and with the Austin Public Library in their kickoff and celebration of Million Mile Challenge Month.

Anne Fish, Vice President of Formula Austin, will help kick off the Million Mile Challenge festivities at 9am. Council members Mike Martinez and Laura Morrison will deliver a City Proclamation for Public Health Week at 10:30 am.

There will be:

  • Free health screenings 
  • Zumba, yoga classes, and a Bike Rodeo with participant trophies sponsored by Sendero Health Plans, prizes sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield.
  • Camp Gladiator's mini boot camp experience and a drawing to win a full Camp Gladiator boot camp experience.
  • Seton's Big Pink Bus will provide free mammograms to women who qualify
  • Information on breast health by Susan G. Komen foundation of Austin
  • Various ATCHHSD departments will be available to provide information on public health
  • Information on health and wellness resources provided by Ventanilla de Salud, Phoenix House, Austin Travis County Integral Care, Sustainable Food Center, and Latino Healthcare Forum. 

There will also be a special area with resources for families affected by the Halloween floods in Southeast Austin. Resources provided include disaster kit distribution by the City of Austin and opportunities to sign-up for services.
