AISD Receives $3.5 Million Education Innovation and Research Grant From U.S. Department of Education
Austin ISD was named one of nine national recipients of a more than $3.5 million Education Innovation and Research (EIR) Early-Phase Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The EIR grant program funds projects that develop and implement evidence-based innovations to improve student achievement for high-need students and evaluate those innovations.

New wireless registration system The new Austin ISD wireless network registration solution is called ClearPass. This solution will allow students and staff to more securely connect BYOD devices to the “education” wireless network. It will also allow guest users to self-register for access to the AISD-GUEST wireless network.
