Overview
Houston Elementary, located in Southeast Austin, serves students in Pre-K3 through sixth grade, including tuition-supported Pre-K for qualified families. The school was named for Josephine Houston, an innovative early educator whose career in Austin schools spanned 46 years. The school is part of the Creative Learning Initiative, offers Dual Language Spanish, and Certified Academic Language Therapist signature programs. Our curriculum incorporates Social and Emotional Learning, mindfulness practices, and fine arts. Houston Elementary offers a variety of after-school enrichment programs. Committed staff and involved families work together to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.
