It’s Never Too Early
Early College Prep in middle school prepares students for academic challenges of college through rigorous academic coursework and high school credit classes in a supportive, college-focused environment. Students are exposed to information about various colleges, and they explore the admissions and financial aid processes.
Early College Prep Middle Schools feed into an AISD Early College High School, and students are prepared to successfully take the Texas Success Initiative Assessment at the end of the eighth grade to determine their level of readiness for college-level coursework.
Austin ISD offers Early College Prep Middle School programs at four campuses: Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy, Dobie Middle School, Gus Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy and Webb Middle School.
