The Planning and Asset Management Department supports our students, staff and community through short- and long-term facility planning. This includes special projects that utilize district land and facilities to respond to current and future challenges. Learn more below and follow the links for more details:
Akins Early College High School - CommUnity Care Student Health Clinic
The W. Charles Akins High School community educates every student to be self-sufficient, strengthens every student to face challenges of mind and heart, and nurtures every student to become life-long learners in a diverse world. Through a partnership with CommUnity Care Health Centers, the district offers the 2,500+ students at Akins easy access to preventive and primary care health services on campus.
Project Lighthouse
Austin ISD estimates about 30% of our students don’t have reliable high-speed internet. The district is exploring ways to provide connectivity for educational purposes to our students and families where internet access has historically been limited.
Rosedale School - Dell Children’s Comprehensive Care Clinic
For families whose children have severe special needs, the Rosedale School offers one simple message: Your child is welcome here. Rosedale's experienced educators serve students who have significant disabilities, including children who are medically fragile or who need intensive behavioral support. Rosedale offers a caring, family- focused community to support students' unique learning needs in a positive environment. In support of these students, the district partnered with Dell’s Children to build a comprehensive care clinic at the campus.
Site Repurposing
Austin ISD is in the process of identifying the future use for district properties that are underutilized or no longer in use that are responsive to the needs of affected communities and make sense financially and strategically.
