A Message from the Superintendent: 2017 Save Texas Schools Rally
Dear Team AISD, I want to make you aware of an opportunity for the Austin community to support our public schools. Save Texas Schools will be holding a statewide rally at the capitol from 10 a.m.–noon March 25, to support fair and equitable funding for public schools, continued reform to our testing system and community-based supports for struggling schools.
Hope Fest at Reagan HS
What: Hope Fest at Reagan High School. HopeFest, in its 9th year, is a community festival of sharing and celebration for neighborhoods around Reagan High School. Community groups, churches, schools, nonprofit organizations, city/county agencies and neighbors from all over Austin will partner to meet needs and empower families with resources. Last year, 4,000 people came together for HopeFest!
AISD Rolls Out BOLT, New Business System
Today, AISD rolls out Business Operations for Learning and Teaching—BOLT. The district's new finance and human capital system will streamline payroll, benefits and time and attendance applications. Three Austin ISD Leaders Selected to Inaugural Class of Austin's African American Leadership Institute
On March 22, three Austin ISD leaders were selected to the inaugural class of Austin’s African American Leadership Institute. Dr. Tamey Williams-Hill, Dinita Caldwell and AISD Police Sergeant Wayne Sneed were among 38 Austin professionals selected to network and gain knowledge and history related to the Black experience in trending issues.
