Mission To ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and the community during various types of emergencies and crises. This mission encompasses a range of activities and strategies aimed at preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.
Health Screenings
Austin ISD will conduct the following health screenings using certified screeners in accordance with guidance from the Texas Department of State Health Services and as required by Board Policy FFAA.
All Austin ISD classes, offices delayed two hours Jan. 17 (En español)
Dear Austin ISD community, Due to ongoing freezing temperatures, all Austin ISD classes will be on a two hour delay Wednesday, Jan. 17. All district offices will also be on a two hour delay. All after-school and/or outdoor activities will be brought indoors according to our temperature guidelines.
Reminder: Families Invited to Review Human Sexuality & Responsibility Lessons, Resources
Two days remain for Austin ISD families to review proposed new Human Sexuality & Responsibility lessons and resources, and to offer feedback. After completing the RFP (Request for Proposals) process to solicit vendors, AISD has proposed using the Get Real curriculum for grades 6–8, and staff has written the lessons for grades 3–5.

The Facility Master Plan team will be at the City of Austin Community Connections Resource Fair Saturday, Oct.. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mendez Middle School.

We're grateful that Sergeant Val Barnes is now recovering at home. His swift response was key in keeping our campuses safe.
