Welcome to the 2025 Black History Month Student Affirmation Project
The Student Affirmation Project showcases Austin ISD students reciting empowering affirmations to build confidence, recognize their unique strengths and talents, and speak to self-worth, self-love, and value. It is to uplift, empower, and motivate. Be intrigued by their ingenuity, sass, and grit, and treasure their authenticity.
You are invited to join us on this journey to remember our why. Listen to our students’ voices, give yourself a spoonful of grace, and save some for a day you need a reminder.
We encourage open discussions, team opening activities, and other engaging ways to further the conversation of value, endearment, and morale. Take a field trip as a department or small group, and use this as your morning motivation.

The 2025 Black History Month theme is African Americans and Labor. This can be viewed through a number of different facets. The Austin ISD Student Equity Council related it to the hard work and labor of our ancestors; the black inventions; the drive and determination of a better education; the action behind the vision.
Join the Black History Month Committee for a number of engaging events this month.
This original exhibit will be housed at the AISD Central Office 7th floor open area.
