Only 10 months after Austin voters passed the Austin ISD bond, Govalle Elementary School students will break ground on a modernized school.

What: AISD is holding a groundbreaking from the 2017 Bond Program. The event will include remarks from the AISD leadership team, Govalle Principal Paula Reyes, student representatives and community members.

When: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25

Background:

Govalle Elementary School will receive a $32.5 million fully modernized school facility as part of the 2017 bond program. In addition to modernizing the school, the project will rebuild Govalle Elementary School, which has one of the lowest facilities conditions assessment scores in the district.
