Speaker of the Texas House Joe Straus has appointed Austin ISD’s Chief Financial Officer Nicole Conley Johnson to the Texas Commission on Public School Finance.  

The Texas Commission on Public School Finance was created in a special legislative session earlier this year. It includes members appointed by the governor, lieutenant governor and speaker of the House. The commission will recommend ways that the next Legislature can reform and improve the state’s system of paying for public education.

Since 2009, Conley Johnson has served as Chief Financial Officer for AISD.  Conley Johnson oversees the day-to-day financial operations for AISD and is responsible for the overall fiscal condition of the district. She also oversees the implementation and consistent application of sound management practices and controls, including, but not limited to, transparent financial reporting and analysis, cash flow, debt management, the procurement process, payroll, risk management and managing and monitoring the budget. The CFO supervises both local general funds and state, federal and private grant funding. Conley Johnson also oversees construction management in facilities, food services and transportation.
