Austin ISD Kicks Off Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 13

 
Austin ISD will celebrate the 2017 districtwide Hispanic Heritage month with a kickoff event this week.
 
Who: Superintendent Paul Cruz will recognize the rich Hispanic cultures represented within AISD, followed by guest speakers Consul General of Mexico Carlos González Gutiérrez and President & CEO of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Luis Rodriguez.

What: TheHispanic Heritage Month kickoff celebration highlights Hispanic diversity throughout the district, including a performance by Cunningham Elementary´s Cobras Ballet Folklorico and the Crockett Early College High School Mariachi Band. Light refreshments will be served.
 
When: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13
 
Where: Cunningham Elementary School, 2200 Berkeley Ave.

Sponsors include Buenos Aires Café, Casa Garcia´s Mexican Restaurant, Lima Criolla Peruvian Cuisine, Mr. Brincolin Party & Event Planning, Piñatas a tu Gusto, RBFCU and Univision Austin.

The program will be presented in Spanish with English interpretation services available.
