Candidate Forums to be Held for AISD Trustee District 6 Appointment

UPDATED 12:56 p.m. May 25.

Two forums have been added to give the community more opportunities to hear from the District 6 candidates.

The Austin ISD Board of Trustees voted to appoint a trustee to fill the District 6 vacancy created by the recent resignation of Trustee Paul Saldaña. The board accepted applications from people interested in being appointed to represent District 6, and is expected to fill the vacancy June 12.

Three candidates have filed to be considered for appointment to the vacant District 6 seat on the AISD Board of Trustees: Alejandro Delgado, Geronimo Rodriguez and Glen Shield.

There will be two opportunities to hear from the candidates:

Community members may submit questions for consideration via an online survey. Moderators will review the questions and may include some during each event.

Trustees will also conduct candidate interviews during a special called board meeting 6–8 p.m. May 30 in the board auditorium. The meeting is open to the public and interpretation will be provided.
