Mathews Elementary School is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a pageant featuring students telling the story of the school in a musical tribute.

What: A pageant chronicling the history of the school and a plaque presentation, recognizing Mathews’ inclusion on the list of the National Register of Historic Places. There will also be an alumni reception and school tours.

Who: Current and past students, parents, teachers, staff and friends of Mathews Elementary are invited. All are welcome to attend this free event.

When: Friday, Sept. 23

8–9 a.m.        Coffee in the library

9–10 a.m.      Program and student pageant, including presentation of historical plaque

10 a.m.           Reception in the library

11 a.m.           Alumni interviews and school tours

Where: Mathews Elementary School, 906 W. Lynn St.  Handicap parking is available directly behind the school.

Para celebrar el aniversario 100 de la Escuela Primaria Mathews habrá una función en la cual los estudiantes contarán la historia de la escuela mediante un tributo musical.

Qué: Una función que cronológicamente cuenta la historia de la escuela y la presentación de la placa que reconoce la inclusión de Matthews en la lista del Registro Nacional de Lugares Históricos. También habrá una recepción para los alumnos egresados y un recorrido de la escuela.

Quién: Están invitados y son bienvenidos a este evento gratuito todos los estudiantes actuales y egresados, padres, maestros, empleados y amigos de la Escuela Primaria Mathews.
