Media Advisory: Full STEAM Ahead: 15 Teachers Awarded Grants from Austin ED Fund

Austin Ed Fund is awarding $75,000 in Spring 2016 Innovation Grants to 15 teacher projects at campuses across AISD.

Innovation Grants are offered in two categories: up to $10,000 for campus/ department projects and up to $2,000 for individual classroom projects focused on literacy, science, technology, engineering, and math and the whole child. 

New projects funded in 2016 include a campus science, technology, engineering, arts and math media studio for students to write and produce their own programming, a student-generated and student-led Girls Conference and refurbishing a campus literacy library with modern, culturally relevant instructional resources.

Who: Austin Ed Fund will host an awards reception for the winners of the 2015 and 2016 Innovation Grants.

What: The grants are designed to recognize and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches that cannot typically be funded within campus budgets.
