Austin ISD News Conference on School Accountability Results Released by TEA

Superintendent, AISD Board President to discuss latest TEA accountability ratings

Following the release of state accountability ratings from the Texas Education Agency this Friday, Austin ISD will hold a news conference to announce the district's results.

Who: Austin ISD Superintendent Paul Cruz, Austin ISD Board of Trustees President Gina Hinojosa

When: 1 p.m. Friday, August 7

Where: Lyndon B. Johnson High School, 7309 Lazy Creek Drive, Austin, TX 78724

Background: All Texas public districts, campuses, and charters are assigned a label of Met Standard, Met Alternative Standard, Not Rated or Improvement Required under the 2015 state accountability system. 

To receive a Met Standard or Met Alternative Standard rating in 2015, a campus or district must meet a predetermined target on four state-established indexes, each of which represent a different school performance metric. 

The four indexes are: Student Achievement, Student Progress, Closing Performance Gaps and Postseconday Readiness.
