Austin ISD, in collaboration with Austin Partners in Education, will celebrate its best-of-the-best at Salute. The annual event recognizes some of the district’s outstanding team members for their continued dedication to student excellence and achievement in schools.

Who: Superintendent Paul Cruz and APIE Board Chairman Mark Curry will host the event. Mayor Steve Adler will co-present the Teacher of the Year award.

What: Recognitions include Teacher of the Year, Classified Staff of the Year, Principal of the Year, Librarian of the Year, Counselor of the Year and Assistant Principal of the Year. For a list of nominees, visit www.austinisd.org/salute/nominees.

In addition, National Board Certified Teachers and Teachers of Promise will be honored. The event also will include student performances, including Anderson High School’s award-winning “The Wedding Singer.”

There will be media availability with the winners following the event at 8 p.m.
