Let’s Talk Money: Community Invited to Learn About AISD’s FY2016 Budget

Austin ISD is hosting community conversations with the public throughout May on the district’s proposed FY2016 preliminary budget.

Four in-person conversations will be held at campuses. Community members can also take part in a Tele-Town Hall on May 20, during which participants can listen to a budget presentation and call to submit questions.

The meetings are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, May 12, from 6–8 p.m. at Bowie High School, 4103 Slaughter Lane
  • Monday, May 18, from noon–1:30 p.m. at Gus Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy, 7414 Johnny Morris Road
  • Wednesday, May 20,* from 6–8 p.m. at Carruth Administration Center Board Room, 1111 W. Sixth St.
  • Wednesday, May 27, from 6–8 p.m. at Perez Elementary School, 7500 S. Pleasant Valley Road
  • Thursday, May 28, from noon–1:30 p.m. at Doss Elementary School, 7005 Northledge Drive

Community members will get the chance to learn about, and provide feedback on, the preliminary budget, including strategic investment in priorities, projected shortfalls and long-range financial planning.

Light refreshments, child care and Spanish interpretation services will be provided.
