Only school in the nation to receive this top designation
The Grammy Foundation announced March 10 that Austin ISD’s McCallum High School was awarded the top designation of National Grammy Signature School, the only school in the nation to receive this designation. In addition to receiving the honors, the school will receive a $5,000 grant.
What: McCallum High School will celebrate their designation
When: 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7
A press reception will be held from 6:30–7 p.m. in Art Room 2.
Where: McCallum Arts Center Theater, 5600 Sunshine Drive
Background: This award recognizes the excellence of McCallum's music department in its entirety, as recordings from all music areas— concert band, choral ensemble, orchestra, classical guitar ensemble, jazz band and steel band—were included in the submission.
