MEDIA ADVISORY Puppetry Group to Offer Helping Hand to Crockett High School Students

Austin Public Library provides puppet boot camp for upcoming production of ‘Avenue Q, The Student Edition’

The Crockett High School Musical Theatre Department is being trained in puppeteering with a workshop from Austin Public Library’s Literature LIVE!

What: The Austin Public Library’s puppeteers are assisting the teens with manipulation and movement, as well as expressing emotion through the medium of puppetry. The students will put their skills to use in the school’s upcoming production of “Avenue Q, The Student Edition.”

When: 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27

Where: Crockett High School, Performing Arts Building, 5601 Manchaca Road

The parking lot and the entry doors to the Performing Arts Building are on the east side of the theater.

Background: Literature LIVE! is the Austin Public Library’s puppetry and storytelling troupe. They create and perform shows throughout the year at Faulk Central Library and 20 neighborhood branch libraries, as well as the Dougherty Arts Center and local museums.
