Harvest Fest offers immunizations, dental and vision care as well as family-friendly entertainment
This weekend, Austin ISD, Eastside Memorial High School and the schools that feed into Eastside Memorial are sponsoring Harvest Fest. The event is a community resource fair with more than 70 exhibitors. In its second year, Harvest Fest is expecting to attract 1,500 to 2,000 attendees.
What: Harvest Fest is a free community resource festival with live music, food, games, free dental and vision care for children, immunizations and flu shots, as well as housing, employment, insurance and education exhibitors. Attendees can also register to be a part of Austin Police Operation Blue Santa, a nonprofit organization that provides qualifying families a holiday meal and wrapped Christmas gifts for each child under age 14.
The event is co-sponsored by Austin Voices for Education and Youth and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Entertainment includes a live music, food, games, zumba, displays from local schools, a performance by the Eastside Memorial High School band, a climbing wall and pony rides.
