AUSTIN, Texas—The Austin ISD Office of Academics, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Division at Austin Community College, invites the community to the Vision + Voice reception, an event featuring student poem videos and a poster gallery of the winning poems.

What: In addition, AISD Office of Academics staff will announce the launch of Voiceprint, the digital press of the district to display student and teacher literacy work. See Voiceprint here (goes live Friday, Sept. 19)
When: 6–8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19
Where: ACC Highland Campus, 6101 Airport Blvd.
Background: The reception follows the successful launch of the Vision + Voice poetry contest, an initiative of the Literacy Action Plan to celebrate student writing.
AISD students submitted more than 800 poems. One winning poem was selected per grade level and was paired with an ACC student art piece.
