Eastside Memorial High School and Vertical Team highlights summer camps, STEM programs, robotics and more
AUSTIN, Texas—Austin ISD’s Eastside Memorial High School vertical team invites its community for a fun festival of live music and entertainment, while showcasing its STEM programming.
Who: Eastside Memorial High School, Martin Middle School, Allison Elementary School, Brooke Elementary School, Govalle Elementary School, Metz Elementary School, Ortega Elementary School and Zavala Elementary School present this festival for the Eastside Community. The event is sponsored by Anthem Benefits Group, Austin Community College, AISD, Austin Voices for Education and Youth, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas, El Mundo, Greater Texas Federal Credit Union, Austin/Travis County Health & Human Services Department, Austin Parks and Recreation, H-E-B, IBC Bank, La Voz, Seton Healthcare Family, Skillpoint Alliance, Sylvan Learning, The University of Texas at Austin, and Valdez Remodeling and Restoration.
What: A STEM festival includes a planetarium, live animals and reptiles; science and robotics demonstrations; and gardening and green living information. Health resources will also be available, including physicals, health screenings, immunizations, health insurance assistance and zumba and CPR demonstrations. Children’s activities include a climbing wall, kickball tournament, kiddie train, free books, a bike rodeo, summer camp registration and arts and crafts. Attendees will get the chance to win gift cards and prizes through a raffle.
