AUSTIN, Texas—Marathon Kids will be holding an assembly at Blazier Elementary to kick off Marathon Kids Day, followed by a Healthy Food Scavenger Hunt with two AISD elementary Marathon Kids at the downtown Whole Foods Market.

When: Wednesday, Feb. 26, 7:30 a.m. Blazier Elementary School assembly; 10 a.m. Marathon Kids Day at Whole Foods Market

Where: Blazier Elementary School, 8601 Vertex Blvd.; Whole Foods Market, 525 N. Lamar Blvd.

Background: Marathon Kids, Whole Foods Market and local volunteers will come together for 5% Community Giving Day in local stores. Four of the five Austin Whole Foods locations (Lamar Boulevard, Bee Caves, William Cannon Arbor Trails and The Domain) will be donating 5 percent of its total sales to Marathon Kids. Eighty-one elementary schools and 38,877 students throughout AISD participated in the Marathon Kids 26.2-mile challenge this year.
