AUSTIN, Texas--Local Rotary Clubs will present a "Tournament of Champions," a 45-minute, outdoor, Renaissance-style jousting complete with warhorses, as part of Pecan Springs Elementary School's Early Act First Knight Program.

Background: EarlyAct FirstKnight is a character education program for elementary and middle schools from Knights of The Guild. Sponsored by Rotary Clubs, EAFK motivates and teaches children of all backgrounds to become civil, service-oriented people during their most formative years.
This is the third year that Pecan Springs has participated in the FirstKnight program and the second year to host a jousting tournament.
The goal of the event is to inspire students to commit to the EAFK program throughout the school year where they will learn and apply concepts like respect, personal responsibility, honesty, compassion, fairness, tolerance and service to others.
