AUSTIN, Texas—The Austin Independent School District will hold a media briefing to answer general questions about the Lanier incident and offer suicide prevention tips.

What: AISD PD Chief Eric Mendez will provide information about safety and a school counselor will be available to provide suicide prevention tips.

When: 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17

Where: Parking lot across from Lanier High School, 1201 Payton Gin Road
