AUSTIN, Texas—Austin ISD is partnering with the Austin Technology Council and Talent Lattice for a district-wide instrument drive for music students through Oct. 7.
“Music is a pathway to success and there is a strong connection between music and academic performance. Music programs enhance a student's sense of self-esteem, as well as, their social skills. We see the positive change in students who are afforded the opportunity to participate in instrumental music,” Greg Goodman, AISD fine arts director, said. “A donation will strengthen arts programing that will have an immediate and long-lasting impact on our students.”
Donate instruments such as percussion equipment, woodwinds, keyboards, music stands, recorders, brass, and classical guitars at AISD’s administrative building at 1211 W. Sixth St., Suite 600 or at any MusicArts stores.
