This week, Austin ISD invites families and community members to two community meetings regarding potential bond projects.
These projects are former 2013-14 Annual Academic and Facilities Recommendations (AAFRs) that have been referred to the Citizens’ Bond Advisory Committee for possible inclusion in the scope of the work for the next bond program.
The meetings are part of AISD’s ongoing effort to gather input and feedback from the public.
Child care and interpretation services will be provided at the meetings.
Wednesday: Career and Technical Education Community Meeting
The district is considering the expansion needs for Career and Technical Education as a potential bond project. Community insight and feedback will help AISD to prioritize and align programs to ensure that students have equal access to CTE programming opportunities.
What: Presentation and discussion around expanding the district’s CTE needs.
When: 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12
Where: Bowie High School cafeteria, 4103 Slaughter Lane
Thursday: Athletic Program and Facilities Improvements
Overall participation in athletics programming has increased in AISD each year, adding more pressure on declining resources. As a direct result, campus athletic facilities have not kept pace with student growth, and the district is exploring potential athletic program and facilities improvements.
What: Presentation regarding potential athletic program and facilities improvements as well as a community-focused discussion.
When: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13
Where: Bowie High School cafeteria, 4103 Slaughter Lane
