Austin, Texas—The Austin Independent School District invites families and community members to attend the State of the District Showcase, which will feature Superintendent Meria Carstarphen's annual address and more than 4,300 students from the district's diverse programs in academics, athletics and the arts.  

Who: All AISD high school and middle school bands, color guards, dance teams and cheerleaders, as well as the All-city Choir, the district's percussion group, ROTC cadets, representatives from student organizations and the superintendent   

What:  Austin ISD's Annual State of the District Address

When:  From 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13

Where: Toney Burger Stadium, 3200 Jones Road

Background: During the State of the District address, Carstarphen will highlight the district's achievements and goals as the district brings together its communities to strengthen support for AISD's students, staff members and schools.

The event also marks the first time all AISD high school and middle school bands will play in unison as part of a district-wide musical performance.
