Austin ISD Hosts Back-to-School Bash and Safety Fair; Event Features District Programs, Safety Lessons and Free Immunizations

Austin, TX—The 2012-13 school year is quickly approaching and the Austin Independent School District is helping parents and students prepare during the Back to School Bash and Safety Fair from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 18.

The Back-to-School Bash offers AISD families the opportunity to learn about the district's programs and services. Parents are invited to participate in such activities as booster-seat fittings and school-zone, safety lessons.

Seton Medical Center will provide free immunizations to students who bring their immunization records.

A+ Federal Credit Union will host a backpack giveaway during the event.

AISD will provide free shuttle service to and from the event beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the following locations:

  •             Reagan High School, 7104 Berkman Dr.
  •             Austin High School, 1715 W. Cesar Chavez St.
  •             One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Rd.
  •             Mendez Middle School, 5106 Village Square

What: Provide resources to AISD families about district programs and community services to prepare students for a new school year.
