The Austin School District today announced that it had received an award of $13 million Texas Title I Priority Schools (TTIPS) grants for Lanier High School and Burnet and Martin middle schools.

“This grant funding will allow these campuses to continue the hard work they are doing to boost student performance,” said Chiefs Schools Officer Paul Cruz. “These funds will be used to enhance effective instructional strategies to increase college readiness for all students, foster a college-going culture and prepare students for rigorous high school and post-secondary studies.”

“Lanier is excited to receive these additional resources, which will enable us to provide, among other things, concentrated tutoring for students who need additional assistance in mastering the new rigorous standards for graduation, as well as increasing the level of college readiness for our students,” said Principal Katherine Ryan.

"The opportunity afforded by the TTIPS Grant Program will enable Burnet Middle School to transform our campus and thus substantially raise student achievement by addressing student needs on an individual basis via research-based strategies, including high dosage tutoring," said Cesar Martinez, Principal of Burnet Middle School.
