Dr. Mary L. Thomas, Administrative Supervisor in the Office of State and Federal Accountability, is among the 26 women named by the Austin Business Journal as a Women of Influence.

Thomas has a B.S. in Special Education and an M.Ed in Special Education, Elementary Education from East Texas State University, a post- graduate certification in Educational Administration and a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University.

She has been a special education teacher, assistant principal, principal and administrator in the Austin school district for the past 32 years. .

Thomas was nominated as a Woman of Influence by the University of Phoenix, where she is an instructor.

The Austin Business Journal has sponsored the Women of Influence award program for the past 17 years.
