The Austin School District's Department of Advanced Academic Services will host two information sessions about the Texas Academy of Leadership in the Humanities for families of advanced academic students in grades 6-10.
The sessions will be held on Saturday, April 30, from 10-11 a.m., and again from 1-2 p.m., at the AISD Professional Development Center, located at 3908 Avenue B.
The Texas Academy of Leadership in the Humanities is a residential honors program housed at Lamar University for gifted and talented high school-aged students to spend two years in a university setting. Students receive a full scholarship to take courses at Lamar, and, upon graduation from the program, typically complete 60 or more college credit hours.
Parents with questions may contact Sheila Dunn, AISD Department of Advanced Academic Services, at 414-9986.
