Would you like an Austin ISD Police Officer to provide an educational presentation for your classroom, a training event for your staff, or security or traffic assistance for your special event?

Please carefully read and acknowledge the “Terms and Conditions” page and “Payment Conditions” page before submitting your request.

We will respond to requests as soon as possible, but please allow up to 72-hours for a response.

Prior to the Austin ISD Police Department making an off-duty job posting available to officers, the requesting entity must acknowledge and agree to the following conditions:

Terms and Conditions

  • Requests should be made at least two (2) weeks prior to your event in order to provide time for planning and scheduling. If your request is made less than two (2) weeks before your event, we cannot guarantee an officer will be available.
  • Once finalized, the Austin ISD Police Department will post the job on our off-duty schedule for officers to sign up, but this does not guarantee an officer will sign up. If no officers sign up for the event, then the requestor will not be charged.
  • Requests for officers outside of their normal duty working hours will be billed at our off-duty pay rate. Requests made less than 72 hours before the event or on a holiday will be billed at a higher rate (see below for rates).
  • Due to the high number of requests and invitations, requests for Austin ISD events or events on Austin ISD property will take priority over out-of-District events, and we may not be able to accommodate all requests.
  • The Austin ISD Police Department reserves the right to assess the event factors, such as crowd size, type of event, location, etc. to determine the appropriate number of officers/supervisors, as well as make modifications to security plans or traffic patterns if necessary.
  • An Austin ISD Police Officer's primary responsibility while working in an off-duty status is the enforcement of federal and state laws as well as local ordinances; to protect life and property and to keep the peace. Officers engaged in a secondary employment job will not refuse to assist any citizen in need.
  • An Austin ISD Police Officer cannot enforce rules or regulations established by the requestor or organization.
  • Austin ISD Police Officers cannot work events that involve the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages as the primary source of income (51% or more).
  • Officers working off-duty employment will not be restricted from certain areas of the premises to which the public has access.
  • Officers can be called away from any secondary employment job if an Austin ISD emergency arises.
  • Neither the location where the event is occurring nor the person/entity requesting the off-duty Officer(s) are under investigation for violation of Federal, State or Local laws.
  • Neither the employer nor the organization or location seeking off-duty Officer(s) advocates hatred, prejudice, or oppression of any racial, ethnic, gender, or religious group, or that disseminates defamatory materials.
