This year we will have our graduates number 1000!
In partnership with ACPTA and Texas PTA, Austin ISD offers a basic English course for families of our students. From October to April every year, participants take classes at their students' schools to learn not just the English language, but also how to handle common situations as well as the vocabulary to master the topics of Housing, Health, Finance, Work, Education and Citizenship.
Classes are free and taught by Austin ISD parent support specialists or volunteer instructors. On April 10, the Maestro en Casa students take part in a graduation ceremony and receive their diploma, with the satisfaction of having stronger communication tools and, for many, with the motivation to continue their studies.
