This is the 39th annual year for the event, which will honor over 130 students and seven community and staff members who made a contribution to Austin ISD.

Each year the African American Heritage Committee selects a high school to showcase the talent at the school and to host the program. This year the committee has chosen Northeast High School and the theme is "Elevating Future Leaders by Advancing the Dream."
