Join us Thursday, Feb. 27 from 6:30–8 p.m. at Dobie MS Family Resource Center, 1200 E Rundberg Ln., to see how the Family Resource Centers are supporting academic excellence in AISD!
Starting at Webb Middle School in 2007, Austin Voices for Education and Youth has partnered with AISD and community partners to develop eight campus-based Family Resource Centers that support thousands of families annually.
Knowing that students need to be in stable situations in order to be in school every day, ready to learn, the FRCs help families with housing, employment, access to healthcare, basic needs, adult education, counseling, parenting skills—whatever is needed to attain long-term stability. Schools with FRCs see better attendance and lower student mobility, as well as increased parent involvement and volunteering.
RSVP to Katie Casstevens (AISD) @ katie.casstevens@austinisd.org and Jose Carrasco (Austin Voices) @ jcarrasco@austinisd.org.
