What:
Lanier Library along with Burnet Library, Wooldridge Library, Guerrero-Thompson Library, McBee Library, Wooten Library, Lucy Reed Library, Walnut Creek Library, Cook Library and Padron Library will host MakerSpace Mania. The event is 9 a.m.–noon on Saturday, January 31. Attendees will learn how to make useful literacy tools from recycled and upcycled materials. Families, faculty and the community are invited to attend this fun reading event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.

MakerSpace Mania will feature fair-style booths with a guide providing instructions on making take-away reading resources.

Special guest and local writer Niki Loftin will read from her book and share her reading and writing experiences.

MakerSpace Mania will let every child take home a free book. Makers can learn to make bookmarks, books, and book art. There will be light snacks and raffles.
