Dove Springs into Wellness Fair
Mendez Middle School will be hosting a community fair to provide basic health services and information to the residents of the 78744 zip code. The Wellness Fair will bring together the residents of Dove Springs and Onion Creek, City of Austin agencies, UT Austin and St. Edwards University student organizations, and local groups to provide resources, information, and entertainment for everyone in the community. Vendors such as Smile Center Dental, the Sustainable Food Center, H-E-B, and Seton Healthcare will have information and workshops aimed at helping families make health and wellness a priority in their daily routines. Several organizations will provide glucose and blood pressure screenings, as well as healthy eating workshops and information about access to local health care.
Other activities at the fair include choir performances by local elementary schools, Zumba lessons and other mini-classes, food preparation demonstrations by H-E-B and a raffle for fair attendees.

Feria de Salud en la Comunidad de Dove Springs
La Escuela Intermedia Méndez presentara una feria comunitaria que proveerá servicios de salud básicos e información para los residentes del código postal 78744. La Feria de Bienestar reunirá a los residentes de Dove Springs y Onion Creek, agencias de la ciudad de Austin, organizaciones estudiantiles de la Universidad de Tejas en Austin y de la Universidad de St. Edwards, y otros grupos locales para proveer recursos, información, y entretenimiento para todos en la comunidad. Agencias tal como Smile Center Dental, el Sustainable Food Center (Centro de Alimentos Sostenibles), H-E-B, y Seton Healthcare tendrán información y talleres con el propósito de ayudar a familias a hacer la salud y el bienestar una prioridad en sus rutinas diarias. Varias organizaciones proveerán exámenes de la diabetes y la alta presión, tendrán talleres para aprender como comer más saludable e información acerca de cómo obtener cuidado médico local.
Otras actividades en la feria incluirán interpretaciones de coros de escuelas primarias locales, clases de Zumba y de otros bailes, demostraciones de H-E-B de cómo preparar comida, y una rifa para todos los que asistan a la feria.
