Dear Team Austin ISD,
As we enter this season of thanksgiving, I am so grateful for all of you and the incredible work you do every day to support our students. As I visit campuses and walk through the central office, service centers and visit with staff throughout the district, I witness the energy and passion you pour into your jobs to ensure that students receive what they need to be successful.
I am also thankful for the opportunity the board of trustees provided to me to serve as your interim superintendent these past few months. It has been an honor and a privilege that brought me joy daily.
Tonight, the Alief ISD Board of Trustees named me as its lone finalist for superintendent. The chance to lead a district while putting down roots for a long-term partnership was something our family could not pass up.
I know that TeamAISD will continue to move the work forward. The leadership team is committed to realizing the district's vision and mission, to prepare every student with the knowledge and skills to thrive in college, career, and life.
Our newly elected board will be leading our district with the next steps. I look forward to finishing this semester with you knowing that you will continue to challenge our students to achieve academic excellence. Thank you for the grace you have extended to me as your Interim Superintendent. It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve this community and the students of Austin ISD.

Al llegar a esta temporada de acción de gracias, estoy muy agradecido por todos ustedes y por su increíble trabajo que hacen todos los días para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes. Cuando visito los planteles y recorro la oficina central, los centros de servicio y visito al personal de todo el distrito, soy testigo de la energía y la pasión que ponen en sus trabajos para asegurarse de que los estudiantes reciban lo que necesitan para tener éxito.
También estoy agradecido por la oportunidad que me brindó la mesa directiva de servir como su superintendente interino estos últimos meses. Ha sido un honor y un privilegio que me trajo alegría diariamente.
Esta noche, la mesa directiva del Alief ISD me nombró su único finalista para superintendente. La oportunidad de dirigir a un distrito y echar raíces para una asociación a largo plazo era algo que nuestra familia no podía dejar pasar.
Sé que el EquipoAISD continuará llevando adelante el trabajo. El equipo de liderazgo está comprometido a realizar la visión y la misión del distrito, para preparar a cada estudiante con el conocimiento y las habilidades para prosperar en la universidad, la carrera profesional y la vida.
Nuestra mesa directiva recientemente elegida estará guiando al distrito en los próximos pasos. Deseo terminar este semestre con ustedes sabiendo que continuarán desafiando a nuestros estudiantes para lograr la excelencia académica. Gracias por la confianza que me han brindado como su superintendente interino. Ha sido un placer y un honor servir a esta comunidad y a los estudiantes del Austin ISD.
