Staff could get $250 if fully vaccinated by Oct. 15. Austin ISD staff will now have extra reason to get vaccinated against COVID-19. 

The district announced two programs aimed to support its staff by providing a financial incentive and the opportunity to get help with sick days if COVID-19 isolation is needed. By incentivizing staff to get vaccinated, in addition to requiring masks, the goal is to have a multi-layered approach to making campuses as safe as possible.

The programs outlined below are focused on getting staff fully vaccinated by Oct. 15:

1. A one-time incentive of $250 will be offered to eligible employees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 15.

• Regular full-time and part-time employees who are fully vaccinated and choose to share proof of vaccination using the form are eligible to receive the $250 incentive.
  • At this time, substitutes and temp/hourly employees are not eligible for the incentive.
• Employees who received their vaccination earlier this year are eligible for the incentive.
• Employees must show proof of being fully vaccinated by October 15.

2. A COVID-19 Sick Leave Co-op has been created to assist with unexpected absences for eligible employees who have to isolate due to COVID-19. Eligible employees who contribute eight hours of their own leave to the co-op will be eligible to use up to five “COVID Leave” days of full payment if needed.

• Eligible staff includes a full-time, benefit-eligible, employee of the district who accrues annual local leave days.
• Employees who want to enroll in the COVID-19 Sick Leave Co-op must complete the enrollment application form between Aug. 24 and Oct. 15.

Participation in the vaccine incentive programs is voluntary. Exemptions are available for staff who are unable to receive the vaccine for medical or religious reasons. 

Staff who are interested in participating in either of the two programs should carefully review the eligibility requirements and sign-up using the link provided in their internal email.

El Austin ISD anuncia programas incentivos de vacunación contra la COVID-19 para el personal

El personal podría recibir $250 si tiene un esquema completo de vacunación a más tardar el 15 de octubre. El personal del Austin ISD ahora tendrá una razón más para vacunarse contra la COVID-19.

El distrito anunció dos programas que tienen el propósito de apoyar a su personal al ofrecer un incentivo económico y la oportunidad de obtener ayuda con días de ausencia por enfermedad si necesita aislarse a causa de la COVID-19. Al incentivar al personal para que se vacune, además de requerir cubrebocas, la meta es tener una estrategia de varios niveles para que los planteles sean lo más seguros posible.

Los programas descritos abajo se enfocan en que el personal tenga un esquema completo de vacunación a más tardar el 15 de octubre:

1. Se les ofrecerá un incentivo único de $250 a los empleados elegibles que tengan un esquema completo de vacunación contra la COVID-19 a más tardar el 15 de octubre.

• Los empleados regulares de tiempo completo y medio tiempo con un esquema completo de vacunación y que elijan compartir su comprobante de vacunación a través del formulario son elegibles para recibir el incentivo de $250.
  • En este momento, los sustitutos y empleados temporales o por hora no son elegibles para el incentivo.
• Los empleados que se vacunaron este año son elegibles para el incentivo.

2. Se ha creado una cooperativa de permiso de ausencia por enfermedad por COVID-19 para los empleados elegibles que tengan que aislarse a causa de la COVID-19. Los empleados elegibles que contribuyan ocho horas de su propio permiso de ausencia a la cooperativa serán elegibles para utilizar hasta cinco días de "permiso de ausencia por COVID" con pago completo si es necesario.

• La definición de personal elegible incluye ser un empleado del distrito de tiempo completo y elegible para beneficios que acumula días anuales de permiso de ausencia local.
• Los empleados que deseen inscribirse en la cooperativa de permiso de ausencia por enfermedad por COVID-19 tienen que llenar la solicitud de inscripción entre el 24 de agosto y el 15 de octubre.

La participación en los programas incentivos de vacunación es voluntaria. Hay exenciones disponibles para el personal que no pueda ponerse la vacuna por motivos médicos o religiosos.
