Top Story: Back to School and Reopening Plan

We are excited for school to start online this Tuesday, Sept. 8.

We want to remind you that for the first four weeks, instruction will be on-line with your child’s teacher. Remember our teachers and staff are here to support you in every way possible.

Families can learn more about our plans for the new year in this unprecedented time at our newly updated Open for Learning Plan.

Austin ISD Expands Wi-Fi Bus Service Times

Austin ISD will continue to use Wi-Fi-enabled buses to provide free internet access to students. Beginning Sept. 8 until October 5, Austin ISD has expanded the times its Wi-Fi buses are available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

AISD is strategically positioning these buses at apartments and neighborhoods where they can make the biggest impact. AISD students can access free Wi-Fi on their school devices. For the most current locations and times please see the Austin ISD School Bus Wi-FI Map.

Informational Videos

To help further inform our families, the district has created a series of short videos highlighting important facts around the start of school. Families can watch the videos below and follow us on Facebook to see more installments in the future.

In addition, we will host weekly live conversations via Facebook focusing on topics related to reopening. These live video conversations will include questions received in the chat. Sessions can be viewed Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at facebook.com/austinisd/ and at 6:30 p.m. in Spanish at facebook.com/EducaAustin/.

Equity Action Plan

The Austin ISD Equity Office is seeking input from the community on its drafted Equity Action Plan. The Equity Action Plan will guide district leaders in their efforts to ensure that all students receive what they need to achieve their full academic and social potential.

Students, staff and community members are invited to review the draft of the Equity Action Plan, which includes challenges, possible solutions and possible policy and budget implications to further equity in Austin ISD. The online form will be available through October 30.

El Austin ISD extiende los horarios de servicio de autobuses con wifi

El Austin ISD continuará usando los autobuses equipados con wifi para proporcionar a los estudiantes acceso gratuito a internet. El Austin ISD ha extendido los horarios en que están disponibles los autobuses con wifi desde el 8 de septiembre hasta el 5 de octubre de lunes a viernes de 7:30 a.m. a 4:30 p.m.

El AISD está ubicando estratégicamente estos autobuses cerca de complejos de apartamentos y vecindarios donde ellos puedan ser de mayor beneficio. Plan de acción de equidad

La Oficina de Equidad del Austin ISD está buscando los comentarios de la comunidad sobre su borrador del Plan de acción de equidad. El Plan de acción de equidad guiará a los líderes del distrito en sus esfuerzos para garantizar que todos los estudiantes reciban lo que necesitan para alcanzar su máximo potencial académico y social.

Los estudiantes, el personal y los miembros de la comunidad están invitados a revisar el borrador del Plan de acción de equidad, que incluye retos, posibles soluciones y posibles normas, así como las implicaciones presupuestarias para alcanzar la equidad en el Austin ISD. El formulario en línea estará disponible hasta el 30 de octubre.
