Travis Early College High School's 2019 class of 286 graduating seniors walked the stage this afternoon at the Frank Erwin Center.
Superintendent Paul Cruz congratulated the graduating students on their years of hard work and accomplishments.
- Awarded five academic distinction designations from the Texas Education Agency.
- Fifteen students graduated with both their high school diploma and their associate degree.
- David Rodriguez was a three-time state wrestling qualifier.
- Erick Barron advanced to the state science fair, won third place in the Engineering and Mechanics category, won the Passion for Science Award and the Navy Award.
Principal Christina Steele Hantgin celebrated her first graduating class as principal.
"You have built strong, vibrant relationships during your time here," she said. "Your ability to communicate, collaborate and connect will serve you well as you head into your future."
Valedictorian Isaiah Spruell Crenshaw thanked his fellow classmates and Travis teachers, and reflected on his class's journey through to young adulthood.
"Never forget your background," Crenshaw said. "Reflect on how much you have changed, evaluate yourself, be thankful and, lastly, prepare yourself for whatever might come your way."
