Calling all actors, singers, musicians, dancers, and tech students!
Auditions for the 2018 Austin ISD Districtwide Summer Musical, Disney’s Newsies, open March 12.
AISD students who are currently in grades 5–12 are encouraged to submit an audition video through Google Classroom. No initial in-person auditions will be held.
Auditions are open for actors, singers, dancers, musicians and tech students. More detailed information will be available in the Google Classroom.
Video submissions will be accepted online until April 8 at 11:59 p.m.
Callbacks will be announced at a later date.
How to audition:
- Visit Google Classroom. You must be signed in to your Austin ISD email address.
- Hit the + sign in the top right corner to join a new class, and enter the “class code”: ykde6s
- Complete the instructions for your area of interest (acting, dancing, tech, etc.)
- Keep it simple – just be you!
Important dates:
- MAy 12–13: Callbacks (as needed for actors/singers/dancers), Crockett Early College High School
- Week of June 11: Rehearsal
- Week of June 18: Rehearsal
- Week of June 25: Rehearsal
- Week of July 2: 4th of July break, no rehearsal
- Week of July 9: Tech Week
- Week of July 16: Tech continued / dress rehearsal
- July 20–22: SHOW DAYS!
- July 23: Strike / clean up (mandatory for all participants)
