As per the Texas Education Code, "Instructional materials selected for use in public schools shall be furnished without cost to students attending those schools."
Each school district is entitled to an annual allotment from the state Instructional Materials Fund for each student enrolled in the district.
At this time, the Austin Independent School District is adopting Proclamation 2017 Instructional Materials for:
- Languages Other Than English
- Career and Technical Education
- Algebraic Reasoning
Materials are slated to go into classrooms in the 2017–18 school year. All of the aforementioned materials are on display at the following locations until Jan. 31:

Additionally, Region 13 offers free online courses for Proclamation 2017 Instructional Materials. Any person(s) may set up a Region 13 account, register on Region 13 E-Campus and use workshop number FP1634119. This message is a reminder that according to the Austin ISD Instructional Materials Adoption Guidelines, any person(s) desiring to file a comment regarding one or more of the instructional materials being considered for adoption by Austin ISD must submit the comment in written form to the superintendent by Jan. 31 of the year in which the materials are being adopted.
The comments should include the name of the instructional material and publisher, the full name and signature of the person submitting the comments, and the rationale for the comment.
