Families and friends filled the seats at the Frank Erwin Center this afternoon to celebrate the Jaguars' classes of 2016.
LBJ Early College High School and the Liberal Arts and Science Academy graduated more than 350 seniors, collectively.
Cynthia Jaimes Ramirez, LBJ ECHS salutatorian, acknowledged the hard work she and eight fellow graduates underwent to graduate with both their high school diplomas and associate degrees from Austin Community College.
“We’ve all worked really hard to say we made it. We walked this same stage on May 12 when we received our associate degrees and we will walk it again today to receive our high school diplomas,” she said.
U.S. News & World Report named LASA one of the best public high schools in the nation and the No. 7 public high school in Texas.
Together, the graduating classes have earned more than $22 million in scholarships.
Congratulations to the LBJ and LASA classes of 2016!
