Putting the finishing touches on another standout school year, Austin ISD honored its finest at Salute 2016 on May 17 at the AISD Performing Arts Center.

Noteworthy nominees in a variety of categories headlined an oustanding group of educators, counselors, librarians and support staff that continues to reinvent the urban school experience.

The winners are:

Campus Classified Staff of the Year: Lisa Jackson, Baranoff Elementary School  

District Classified Staff of the Year: Janice Crowder, Finance

Librarian of the Year: Christy Cochran, Murchison Middle School

Counselor of the Year: Meagan Butler, LASA

LASA Assistant Principal of Year: Sarah Juarez-Farias, Rodriguez Elementary School

Principal of the Year: Lori Schneider, Kiker Elementary School 

Teacher of the Year: Allison Ashley, Perez Elementary School
