Austin ISD Food Services and Anderson High School are proud to introduce the district's first food trailer in an effort to provide students with healthy and delicious meal options in a new and innovative way.
The Nacho Average Food Truck menu will alternate daily and will first feature street tacos with locally sourced ingredients, including tortillas from Fiesta Tortillas and produce from Johnson's Backyard Garden.
For the normal lunch price, students will receive two tacos and up to three sides and a milk.
Daily specials will include barbacoa, carnitas, fish and veggie tacos. Side dishes such as chili-lime melon, Mexican-style street corn, zesty black beans and chopped Mexican salad will complete the combos.
Students will also be able to purchase agua frescas and Good Pop's paletas to complement their meals.
The truck's name and artwork, as well as the courtyard where it will be located, were all created by Anderson students.
Please join AISD Food Services and the Anderson High School community at 11:30 a.m., Oct. 15 to experience the new flavors and format of AISD's first-ever food trailer.
