More than 500 Akins Eagles received their diplomas at the Frank Erwin Center today as they completed their high school careers.
The school's namesake, Charles Akins, attended the celebration and addressed the graduates.
The 2015 class was a record-breaking one, with nearly three-quarters of students filling out FAFSA applications—the largest number in school history.
More than 90 percent of students successfully submitting a college application.
Their efforts helped contribute to Akins being named one of U.S. News and World Report’s best high schools in the country this year.
Their class had the largest number of students graduating with career certifications, with students being certified in fields such as phlebotomy and as EMTs.
Congratulations to the Akins High School class of 2015!
